Leaving a Gift in your Will to Endeavour Foundation

A gift in your Will can help future generations of people with disability live a life of choice, opportunity, and equality.

What is your Lasting Endeavour?

Your Will is your opportunity to do what is best for your loved ones beyond your own lifetime – providing for them as best you can. Over and above this provision, a gift to Endeavour Foundation in your Will can allow you to support a cause close to your heart for generations to come.

When you leave a gift in your Will to Endeavour Foundation, you become part of our Lasting Endeavour community - a community made up of everyday Australians from all walks of life who are passionate about supporting people with disability to live, learn, work, and flourish in a future they choose to build.

Why is having a Will important?

Writing a Will is one of the most important things you can do for the people and causes you care about.
Here are four reasons to make writing your Will a priority:

Make sure your wishes are known

A Will gives you the chance to clearly say what matters to you—how you’d like your belongings and assets to be shared, and who you’d like to look after them.

Take care of your loved ones

Your Will can include provisions for your family members, so that they are taken care of after you are gone.

Support causes close to your heart

Your Will is a chance to leave a lasting impact. Whether it’s supporting a charity like Endeavour Foundation or another cause you care about, even a small gift can make a big difference.

Make things easier for your family

Without a Will, sorting out your estate can become complicated and take longer than it needs to. Having a Will in place helps ensure everything is handled smoothly, just as you intended.

Leaving a legacy that changes the lives of people with disability starts with a conversation. We encourage you to talk with your loved ones first and foremost to help them better understand your intentions - from there, amazing things can be achieved.

Leaving a gift in your Will is easier than you might think, and you don’t need a large estate to leave a lasting legacy. Your gift can be a percentage or share of your estate (that is, the money, property, and other assets you own), a specific sum of money, property, shares, or even the whole of your estate. Whatever you choose to give, we are deeply grateful. You can rest assured knowing that we welcome the chance to realise your legacy in a way that exemplifies your generosity and your life’s work.

If you decide to leave a gift in your Will to Endeavour Foundation, it would be wonderful if you could let us know. We’d love to have the chance to thank you personally and talk to you about the different ways your legacy could be realised.

We started with love

Endeavour Foundation’s story began in 1951, when a small group of Queensland parents came together with one shared hope: to give their children with intellectual disability the same educational opportunities as every other child. At the time, there were no schooling options available. So, with incredible determination—and support from educational pioneer Sir Fred Schonell—they started their own, on the verandah of a home in Brisbane. What began with one humble classroom soon grew into something much bigger.

We grew with determination

By the 1960s and ’70s, that little grassroots group had blossomed into a statewide movement. Endeavour Foundation became our official name in 1982, reflecting our broader mission: to support people with disability not just in education, but throughout life. That included everything from job training and supported employment, to housing and residential care. Every step of the way, it’s been families, supporters and local communities driving the change.

We continue with purpose

Today, thanks to the generosity of people like you, Endeavour Foundation is proud to support more than 11,000 people across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. When you leave a gift in your Will to Endeavour Foundation, you're helping to continue this legacy of inclusion, independence and opportunity—ensuring that future generations of people with disability can thrive in a world where they are truly valued and supported.

David's Lasting Endeavour is changing lives

David Huxley, a beloved member of the Endeavour Foundation community for over 6 decades, loved to learn and loved to work. For him, it was about the people, the fun, and the new opportunities.

This is what inspired a thoughtful decision by David, with the full support of his family – to leave a gift in his Will to the place where he found his ‘other family’ – Endeavour Foundation.
