Maddy’s ultimate goal is to get a job in customer service. She recently put together her resume, and she lists her strengths as communication and teamwork.

“Helping people is what I want to do, I think it’s special,” she says.

She was instrumental in the planning of Labrador Learning and Lifestyle hub’s own café room, complete with counter, coffee machine, menu, and seating, so that clients could learn and practice customer service and barista skills.

Learning new work skills and connecting with her community are all part of Maddy’s plan to grow her independence and be the driver of her own life.
