2021 Simpson Desert Adventure - Days 7 & 8

16 Nov 2020

seeing red

To ensure Day 7 of the Great Endeavour Rally gets off to a good start, Dogga and his team will be up and cooking, with breakfast available from 6:30am. And the fantastic local fair doesn't end there.

Throughout the day you will be travelling on station tracks on your way to lunch, catered for by a generous local station who has found times a bit tough throughout the drought. Station owners are a big part of what makes the rally what it is, by not only giving a place to stop but by also giving us access to their private tracks - opening up unique routes and hidden outback gems few others tackle or see.

But wait, there's more! A big part of the day will be Big RedStanding at 40 metres in height, and situated just 35 kilometres from Birdsville, this famous sand dune is the perfect challenge for your car and driving skills. Never fear though, with our friends from the Australian Army and the help from others in the rally family, you've got all the backup you could need to tackle this epic climb. It'll be worth it too. The first of 1,140 parallel dunes in the Simpson Desert, the spectacular sunsets from the top of Big Red are an experience not to be missed.

bet big and give big

For night 7, get your betting slips ready as we roll into Birdsville for a night at the races Great Endeavour Rally style. Are you ready to bet and get racing? It'll be a tops little race that'll certainly make for a lot of memories, including a great photo or two.

Dinner will be catered for by the local social club, where all the funds raised go back into the local community. After all, the rally is about supporting vulnerable Australians - both in terms of regional communities in need and people with intellectual disability.

To reward you for a night pf giving big, the locals will put on breakfast at the community hall from a nice early mark.

Beyond this though, we want to leave you guessing. This day will be a bit of a mystery, but what we can say is that you will travel on roads less travelled to a historic spot and finish
the day at a station for some true outback hospitality. Any guesses at what added history we might be leading you to?
