It started on a front porch.

75 years later, it’s helping people with intellectual disability be seen.

Starts on 1 May!

Why the Sit-Up Challenge?

For more than 75 years, Endeavour Foundation has stood alongside people with intellectual disability, supporting them to live, learn, and work with greater independence. But underneath all of that work is something even more fundamental: people with intellectual disability have the right to be seen.

Seen as individuals.
Seen for their strengths.
Seen as valued members of their communities.

People with intellectual disability deserve to be seen as equal members of society. Yet too many still face barriers, not because of their ability, but because they’re too often overlooked. That’s where you come in.

With every sit-up, every share, and every dollar you raise in the Endeavour Foundation Sit-Up Challenge, you’re helping to break down those barriers. You’re helping people be seen, heard, and never left behind, celebrated for their abilities, their contributions, and the difference they make every single day.

Be Part of the Next Chapter

What started with families supporting each other on a front porch has grown into a nationwide movement across 295+ sites.

By taking on 75 sit-ups a day this May or any core-based movement that works for you, you’re helping shape a future where people with intellectual disability are seen, celebrated, and included.

Your Impact: Every Rep Counts

Every sit-up, every share, every dollar you raise makes a real difference. You’re helping ensure people with intellectual disability are seen — in their communities, in their workplaces, and in the opportunities they deserve.

It’s not just about the exercise. It’s using your core for change and showing up, making noise, and standing with people who too often go unnoticed. Your challenge helps break down barriers, create visibility, and remind everyone that every person deserves to be seen.

The number 75 represents Endeavour Foundation’s 75 years of standing alongside people with disability,  years of progress, resilience and change. Every sit-up is a small way of honouring that history and helping carry it forward.

You can move at your own pace, adapt the challenge to your ability, or break your sit-ups into smaller moments throughout the day. This challenge is about commitment, care and community, not pushing beyond your limits.

Together, those small efforts add up to something powerful.
