Four Hubs, One Community: Sports Day 2026

22 Jun 2026

The Lawnton, Bowen Hills, Caboolture and Redcliffe Learning & Lifestyle hubs recently came together for a vibrant and inclusive Sports Day celebration.

More than 120 participants gathered for a fun-filled day that celebrated not only teamwork and friendly competition, but also 75 years of Endeavour Foundation. The event was thoughtfully planned and led by Team Leaders Ena and Hayley from Bowen Hills, whose vision brought the four hubs together in a truly meaningful way.

With the rain holding off, participants were treated to a beautiful sunny day—perfect for enjoying the outdoors and embracing the spirit of the games. Activities included relay races, bean bag toss, kicking games and target throws, offering something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.

Caboolture Learning & Lifestyle Hub took out the top spot, followed closely by Lawnton, Redcliffe and Bowen Hills. However, the day was about much more than results. It was a celebration of connection, laughter and shared experiences, with many participants meeting for the first time and forming new friendships. The day finished with some much welcomed celebratory cake for everyone to enjoy.

For Ena, one of the standout moments was seeing all four hubs come together as one community. The energy throughout the day was electric, with friendly banter between teams—especially between Bowen Hills and Lawnton—bringing plenty of laughter. It was also the first time many had met the Caboolture crew, adding to the sense of excitement and connection. The enthusiasm and competitive spirit shown by participants made the day even more memorable.

What began in 2017 as a small hub sports day for the Bowen Hills team, has grown into a much-anticipated annual event, now bringing together multiple hubs in a celebration of inclusion, teamwork and community.

And the momentum doesn’t stop there. The Bowen Hills team is already preparing for their next initiative, firing up the BBQ at Bunnings Newstead on Saturday 19 September. All proceeds from the day will go directly back to the hub, so if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and show your support.
