QArt artist Sarah Gibson recently shared her latest body of work, Illuminate, at QArt Studios. The launch event was a relaxed and joyful celebration, attended by Sarah’s family, friends and supporters.
Sarah is a painter and multidisciplinary artist who works across painting, ceramics, embroidery, collage, digital art and beadwork. She enjoys experimenting with different materials and techniques and is always open to trying new ways of making art.
Nature is a big inspiration for Sarah, especially trees and forests. She is drawn to the colours, shapes and patterns she sees outdoors and brings these ideas into her work. Many of her artworks feature repeating patterns and bright colours that invite you to slow down and look a little closer.
One of the highlights for Sarah was creating her favourite artwork in the exhibition. “My favourite piece was the blue and white rainbow painting (named ‘A Bright Future’),” she said. “It reminded me of when I go on my walks and see rainbows in the sky. I care a lot about the environment.”
Sarah is known for being brave and curious in the studio. She enjoys pushing herself creatively and exploring new ideas, which gives her work a strong sense of energy and movement. Through Illuminate, she invites viewers to notice beauty in the world around them and to connect with nature in a simple, meaningful way.
