Over tea, scones and lively conversation, supporters, partners and community members gathered at Maroochy RSL for our recent Connections and Conversations morning tea, celebrating 75 years of Endeavour Foundation and the impact we continue to create together.
The event brought together a diverse and passionate cross-section of the Sunshine Coast community, including long-time donors, corporate partners, Great Endeavour Rally participants, and people we support from sites across the region. It was a powerful reminder that building inclusive communities takes all of us.
Guests heard from our Board Chair, Elizabeth Jameson AM, who shared her family’s long history with Endeavour Foundation and her personal connection to supporting people with intellectual disability. Her reflections highlighted a simple but powerful truth: when people with disability are given equitable opportunities, they contribute, thrive and help strengthen the communities around them.
As we celebrate 75 years of people, purpose and progress, the Sunshine Coast remains a significant part of our story. From Palmwoods and Nambour to Noosaville and Maroochydore, generations of participants, families, employees, volunteers and supporters have helped shape a community where people with intellectual disability are empowered to build skills, pursue goals and live fulfilling lives.
One of the highlights of the morning was hearing from Andrew Thompson from our Nambour Learning and Lifestyle hub and Mandy Black from our Maroochydore Disability Social Enterprise. Through their stories, guests gained valuable insight into the achievements of the people we support and the meaningful opportunities available across the Sunshine Coast, from learning new skills and building independence to contributing through employment and community participation.
We were also delighted to acknowledge the ongoing support of Maroochy RSL, a long-standing champion of our work. Through its 100% Community Giving Back Program, the RSL recently provided a $10,000 donation to support the purchase of a backup generator for our Maroochydore Disability Social Enterprise. This investment will help maintain critical security systems during power outages, supporting the safety of our employees and the continuity of business operations.
Our Maroochydore Disability Social Enterprise delivers document destruction, paper shredding and packing services across the Sunshine Coast, creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability while providing valuable services to local businesses.
As the conversations continued long after the tea cups were empty, one thing was clear: the Sunshine Coast community remains deeply committed to creating opportunities where everyone can thrive.
