My Updates

Day 10

Sunday 10th May
I am now 1/3 of the way there, 750 sit ups completed, 1575 left.
1 in 5 Australian Adults live with a disability, if even 1 in 5 people donate to this cause it would go a long way in helping those people we support.

Day 7 contemplations

Thursday 7th May
Today I was talking with some of the superstars at work who are also completing this challenge, and how difficult it can be some days to find the strength and energy to complete our daily sit ups after a long day at work.
Someone mentioned that instead of sit ups you can plank, or do Pilates, or other activities that engage your core, and it got me to thinking.
When people with disabilities or chronic conditions are having a tough day, are in pain from the previous day, or are struggling achieve their daily goals, they don't have the luxury of looking at a list and choosing something easier, they can't just swap out their barriers for something that is better suited for that day.
I am lucky, at the end of the 31 days I can stop. The pain and the discomfort will fade and I will carry on with my life.  Those we support don't get to just walk away.
For that reason I have decided to not change my daily goal, I will stick with it and hope to gain some insight into the daily fight millions of Australians face every day.
525 sit ups down, 1800 to go

Day 3 update

Monday 4th May
My first set of 35 sit ups were a real struggle.  At the beginning I thought it would just take me a few days to get back into form... Apparently not.
40 more today, 28 more days to go.
